The raspberries my husband brought home were so fresh and plump so of course I had to take time to paint some before and the reward was to eat the model YAY! They were definitely pieces of heaven! I do love small pieces of original art as they are so precious like gems that we like to protect and admire upclose. I am enjoying this set so much that I want to keep them and decide if I want to sell them later. Mom bought me these canvases with easels and I don’t know where to get them so maybe that’s why I am feeling extra attached to these 2.5×2.5 canvases.
Speaking of my Mom she’s been diagnosed with some health issues that she’s still being tested for (enlarged heart and liquid in her lungs), so please keep her in your most positive thoughts. The umbilical cord is alive and well so I am most definitely feeling very imbalanced over this news especially because I live so far away from her and basically even if I lived with her, there’s very little help I could offer. But there’s something to be said about one human being roaming this world who I can vouch loves me the most and I could probably humbly claim same position in her life.
I am feeling a bit lost in my Mommy – Baby portrait. I had a definite picture in my mind about it and I somehow lost it lol I am loving the pinkish coralish colors going on. But you know what bugs me the most? That I’ve painted in the outline of the figures so strongls grrrrrrr for some reason it’s impeding my progress. But there ya go, WIP 2!
Don’t forget that you can click images to enlarge your view!
I will keep your mother in my thoughts!
You can get the 2.5″x3.5″ canvas and easels at Dick Blick online.
My prayers and good thoughts go out to your mom!
Those 2.5 x 2.5 canvases and easels are very cut. I love your raspberries. They look so delicious! They remind me of Tipper (cat who passed recently). She loved all kinds of fruit, but especially raspberries and blueberries.
how much is that berry on the easel (to the tune of doggie in the window). teehee. I’m such a pig…already own your teacups and roses!
On baby and mom. what medium? I think you should shift gears and leave some of the outlines…toulous latrec? I have NO art history, but know that there are some masters who used the outline to their advantage!
sending plenty of white light to your mom…hoping she works through whatever issue she came here with.

Erika,
You did an excellent job on the china but the painting has berries and the bowl only has a tiny bit of juice…Ha! Wish I could have helped you destroy the evidence :o)
Thoughts and prayers for Mom and you all. xoxo
those are so yummy they make my mouth water!
Thanks Gail! And perfection on the canvas, now I’ll just have to wait for a sale deal 🙂
Thanks Akiko! Aww a cat that liked fruits? Tipper must have been Asian at heart 🙂 hugs!
VICREDVICREDVICRED baby the raspberry painting is yours! I love love love my oil portrait! Scott really likes it too HOW ABOUT THAT??? 🙂
I see Toulouse… but let me see if I can recover what I had in mind so it doesn’t haunt me forevah like a terrible “what if” which I actually don’t have because I usually pursue what I have in mind. Thanks so much for the input though. I think I’ve just had too much in mind.
Thanks Tootsie Roll aka Lee xox The raspies were plump and juicy and when they landed in my mouth it was as if they melted right in ummmmmmmm
Hillary the raspberries called me to paint them because I wanted to remember how beautiful they were and the final reward was perfection in my happy taste buds 🙂
about the mommy and baby…that cassatt feeling is already there – just keep going. think of her pastels – hatch marks like that will soon cover up the heavy outline and keep the color moving – just keep going!!!!
Okidokie thanks Hillary!
Your mother must be so proud of your and your work. I’ll keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Paintings always go through an ugly duck stage don’t they. Don’t be so hard on yourself. I think its lovely already.
oh, BTW, you’ve been tagged. hugs!
Erika, best wishes to you and your mother…fingers crossed. Those little still life paintings are great. I purchased three identical sets in Saskatoon about a month ago. So phone around, you may find some in a local art supply store. If not, contact me and maybe I can help. Love the mother and child portrait, it is coming along beautifully.
You mother and child is already beautiful and will be wonderful when you decide it’s finished. I will pray for your mom and you.
Thanks so much Sheila sorry I’ve been so preoccupied xox
Thanks Vern I appreciate you chiming in on my blog 🙂
Dominique thank you so much for your kind comments hugs!
